The Auto-Connect logic can be used to
automatically connect your node to another node giving you backup connection
redundancy. In the Auto-Connect configuration
you set a list of connection attempts and their priority. If the Auto-Connect feature is enabled, the
Auto-Connect logic will run every two minutes and attempt a connection. The engine will start with the priority one
call in the list and will keep trying that connection until the max attempts
are reached. It will then drop to the
next priority call in the list. After
all calls have been tried, the auto-connect engine will zero all attempts and
start over using the first call. Your
primary node connection should be made using the Auto-connect giving you fail
over capability. All other node
connections should be made through the scheduler.
Example: If your primary connection point is N7OD with
backups to AB5K and AB5K-2 you would set up N7OD as a priority one connection, AB5K as priority 2 and AB5K-2 as priority 3. When N7OD goes down, the connection will
switch to AB5K and if its down the connections will switch to AB5K-2.

The “OH2AQ Fail Over” option, when checked, will
automatically activate the OH2AQ spot grabber when not connected to any of the
stations in the auto-connect logic. The
OH2AQ spot grabber will be deactivated (within two minutes) when a connection
is made to any of the active stations in the auto-connect.
The OH2AQ spot grabber can also be used with a
proxy server. For use with a proxy
server check the use proxy server box and enter the proxy server IP address and
port.
